Oh good! when i first went to tz in july 94 as a kid i remember seeing Asian Lions in the grotto area and then later on the rooftop had been removed, was this the same enclosure. I kind of get the feeling this was Ali's old exhibit too right as you were explaining to me about the Lion and Tiger pits being reconstructed to ground level view opposite dog row as i remember first seeing it in 94 with Shiva & Seletan in the right enclosure and Chester in the left. I can remember when the Sun Bears moved up here from their old canyon at the bottom of the zoo in 1999? although those Sun Bears only came in 1997 from the Cambodian Bear rescue. I recall a Sun Bear with a unique spot on his face/nose from my first years visiting TZ and was wondering if you knew any info about that Bear's name and time at the zoo? This enclosure was the first in the waterhole walkthrough, and had also housed Ali, and the sunbears for a time (I'm assuming it's gone now with new renovations). It was on level with the top of the Lion and Tiger enclosures. As for the Sunbear's names, the only one I remember is Mr Hobbs.
