Interesting little tidbit:
Planckendael has mislabeled these fish for years (EDIT for clarity: until the present day) as being Melanotaenia splendida - they are actually M. boesemani.
According to the information provided on Zootierliste Planckendael has in fact never kept M. splendida, but has previously kept M. praecox and M. lacustris.
