One of the small rainforest exhibit in the Nuboso house, previously home to hummingbirds. Very difficult to view and photograph due to very bad reflection in the windows.
In the past the Nuboso building this exhibit is in used to house hummingbirds. At the time, as I saw on my pictures taking during my 2014 visit, the visitor area in the middle was much larger than the current passageway (and not a passageway either, but closed off at one side).
Avifauna at the time housed two hummingbird species in here: the Fork-tailed woodnymph (Thalurania furcata) and White-chinned sapphire (Hylocharis cyanus).
Zootierliste says the Fork-tailed woodnymph (Thalurania furcata) was still present here in May of 2018, but in the Avifauna news topic on this site it was mentioned they were no longer on show in June.
According to the information in the news topic (see link below) the former hummingbird, rainforest-themed bird exhibits are now home to turquoise tanagers (Tangara mexicana), Brazilian tanagers (Ramphocelus bresilia) and red-legged honeycreepers (Cyanerpes cyaneus).
Personally I saw a turqouise tanager and red tanager-like bird that to me did look more like a White-winged tanager (Piranga leucoptera) rather than a Brazilian tanager (both species are listed for Avifauna at Zoochat, the white-winged tanager as having been acquired in 2018).
On a final note: the visibility (and photographability) of these exhibits was sadly very poor during my visit due to very bad reflection in the windows.
