East African crowned cranes (Balearica regulorum gibbericeps) flying. They are pretty impressive in flight.
Full list of species used in the first flight show of the day, named "The world in a bird's eye view":
- Steller's sea eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus)
- White-cheeked turaco (Tauraco leucotis leucotis) [I only got a single, very blurry picture of this one that I only kept to compose this list and will not post.]
- Great hornbill (Buceros bicornis)
- Papuan hornbill (Rhyticeros plicatus)
- Laughing kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae)
- Eclectus parrot (Eclectus roratus)
- Galah (Eolophus roseicapilla)
- Blue-and-yellow macaw (Ara ararauna)
- Green military macaw (Ara militaris)
- Green-winged macaw (Ara chloroptera)
- Sun conure (Aratinga solstitialis)
- East African grey crowned crane (Balearica regulorum gibbericeps)
- Western cattle egret (Bubulcus ibis ibis)
- Ducorp's corella (Cacatua ducorpsii)
- Scarlet ibis (Eudocimus ruber)
- Red-legged seriema (Cariama cristata) [There was one standing and prancing around on a small patch in the exit area immediately after the show, it is not entirely clear to me whether it was part of the show or in training or not. They are supposed to live in the nearby Nuboso exhibit.]
