Giant Eland

western woolly opossum (Caluromys lanatus)

What????? How do you managed to be able of seeing it? She didn't let us (me and Vogelcommando) in our visit :(

On my last visit, we played with this little guy for a very long time, they are great :D

@Kakapo I PM'd the answer haha

@migdog Ooo such an honor to be welcomed haha! I wonder if anyone has managed to see more than the 12 species I've seen??

@Jo Kuyken Indeed! The highlight of the Netherlands for me, and one of my favorite animals on the whole trip!

I agree with @Kakapo! I asked Best if it was possible to see the woolly opossum last August, but it wasn't allowed!

AWP, welcome to the non-opossum club :D:D:D (plus non-giant flying squirrel, siberian weasel and Virginia opossum, the other species that Best zoo have behind the scenes)

I know the owner myself. The virginia opossum left the park. The siberian weasels aren't kept on a place where you can see them very well. And the flying squirrels are in the 'totally forbidden zone', they are kept in an enclosure where you will almost never see them and they might never be on show in the future :(

What a shame! I think that next year I will try Wroclaw, with the flying squirrel, the hartebeest and the bear cuscus that I missed at Pairi Daiza.
