Sumatran white-bearded civet : Hamerton : 02 Dec 2018

Paguma leucomystax / P. larvata leucomystax. Also known as: White-bearded masked palm civet. Male.
It's amazing how much chunkier, darker and more akin to a binturong this subspecies looks when compared with the Himalayan Palm Civets (P. larvata larvata) I saw in April.

Superb.....

Is the Himalayan sub-species also at Hamerton? Don't remember seeing them in the summer when I was there.
 
@Newzooboy - No, I saw them at Zoo Dortmund :) which is the only place the subspecies is kept in Europe.
