Sign about the rescued Brown Capuchin. September 11, 2018. The sign reads:
Lucjan came to us from one of the Polish circuses. His career ended when he bit a child during one of the performances. When the tamed monkey became aggressive, she was rejected by people and condemned to live alone.
Lucjan has a stereotype to this day. As a result of being in a cage that is too small, she has a reflex to turn her head off when she touches the glass pane.
We have a repair program for Lucjan. After renovating old Malpiarnia cages, a small group of Capuchins will live with us from the Exotic Rehabilitation Center in Almere. Under the supervision of experienced AAP employees, we will attempt to connect Lucjan to the herd. Keep fingers crossed!
