Does the zoo really need that black fence in the foreground? Is it there to keep the bears up high and in view or is there the fear that bears would go into the 'valley area' and then struggle to make their way back up the slope?
 
@snowleopard Honestly I do not know. I suppose it is probably some kind of safety measure. The sides of the moat are rather steep though so if a bear did go into it I don't think it would be able to climb out.
