'Kamina' the Pygmy Hippopotamus (Choeropsis liberiensis)

Can never forget Taronga too! :p

Pygmy hippo’s do look great underwater though. I especially love Felix’s underwater antics at Melbourne. :p:p:p

They certainly do look good underwater.:)
Spectacular creatures- I’m just glad I don’t have to catch a plane to see one now!:D

I probably have the best zoo access of all with Zoos Victoria. :D

Though nothing can beat NSW with the amazing amount of zoos there! Queensland has quite a few good zoos too.

I definitely agree. :D

NSW will also be celebrating with yet another great zoo, Sydney zoo coming soon. Can’t wait for that to open! :p

Darling Downs zoo is growing to become a great zoo!:)

It’s alongside Altina Wildife park and Sydney zoo (when it opens) to visit on my ‘To Visit’ list of Australian zoos.

I agree there is always something new at Darling Downs Zoo!;)
Halls Gap, Tasmania, Mogo and Altina are all in a similar boat. :D

I find Darling Downs growing at a particular fast speed though.

The public zoos such as MZ, TZ, AZ and PZ have been around for over 100 years hence their high popularity and amazing collection.

Compare this to the younger private zoos who clearly have a disadvantage but Mogo, Altina, Darling Downs, Halls Gap and Tasmania are fighting.

I’d like to see these zoos continue to grow into the future. :p
