aviary renovation

February 3, 2019. Former scrub jay aviary (next to deer exhibit).
I took this photo yesterday, but when I went back today workers were installing some fine mesh to the sides. (The mesh will be great for viewing and photography). They said the new inhabitant will be a long-eared owl.

Does the aviary stretch beyond the beige poles or does this photo show the entirety of the structure? I cannot recall from my visits in the past, but are those 'shade items' on each side?
