@EmperorTamarin Thank you. I was given the identification of Alocasia in a Facebook group dedicated to ID's of animals and plants, I guess they aren't always right.
Well, it's fairly easy to mistake this with an Alocasia. However the trawling stem with aerial roots is typical of Philodendron species - Alocasia have erect stems without aerial roots, or they lack a stem.

I'm not familiar with tropical plants (only native plants and common garden plants from the low countries I'm just a bit familiar with) so I always rely on others when I want something identified.
I guess I trusted the identification given too much and didn't do any further research.
