@KevinB@Kakapo Having looked at this photo again and compared it with the second photo, I think my second thoughts were wrong and so it is a borleyi (with nibbled ventrals). The deciding factor was the relatively plain blue caudal fin, which is rather different from the red empress which has a blue fin with some red lines. I'm sorry I got it wrong before
Incidentally it is easy to tell the difference if there are females in the same tank. P taeniolatus females (and immature males) are silver with a strong black line and fainter black bars, while C borleyi females have much plainer silvery bodies but characteristic orange fins.
