Is that a Eurasian Coot in the water? Are they found naturally in California? Or are they on display?
 
@John Marchwick Are you sure that is not an Andean Coot (Fulica ardesiaca)? I know the Safari Park keeps them, and they typically have a rounder shape to their forehead than that of Eurasian.
 
@d1am0ndback it just looks like one to me however I never saw it’s face and I actually never noticed the bird until I took the picture so I’m not entirely sure. Although none of the less u probably r correct
 
@John Marchwick I have a photo of an Andean Coot which looks almost identical to this bird (this does not mean they are the same individual) that was taken at the park in 2015. Judging by the bird's appearance due to reasons mentioned above I am confident this is an Andean Coot.
