NEW Warthog/Tortoise Exhibit

I'd love to see a photo of this exhibit a few months from now...when it is filled with little pig hoofprints and the lush, green grass has been turned into a mud-pit. Right now the enclosure sparkles in the California sunshine, but wild pigs always churn up the natural substrate in their zoo exhibits.

@snowleopard That's exactly what I thought when I saw it. So much effort for lush grass, but the dividends won't last very long.

Does anyone know what tortoise species was/is planned to be in here?

@snowleopard I know you saw it again this summer, but just so everyone else knows how this exhibit looks 4 years later *after* the warthogs...




Not a single blade of grass to be found. More shade now though!
