The foreground is the current sea lion stadium (where I stood to see the construction). The background is the new exhibit are. The tall rocks on the left that are a bit more brown than the gray rocks for the sea lions will be the centerpiece and will rise above a rotating puma/jaguar exhibit. The small open space on the rocks near the top left have mesh that appears to be for transferring cats, just like the design of the mesh in rock for leopards at San Diego's Africa Rocks.
This looks like a more interesting and aesthetically pleasing development than the event pavilion. Looking at the concept art, there are some interesting mixed species ideas for this complex. El Paso Zoo's Chihuahuan Desert exhibit taking shape I guess we'll see what the finished complex looks like, but it has potential for sure.
