Leopard Trail - Giraffe exhibit

Paddock for South African Giraffe, Grant\'s Zebra and Scimitar-horned Oryx. Giraffes were not on display that night for reasons unknown.

@Zooish I was looking at the 2019 Night Safari map and noticed that giraffes are not exhibited at all now. Is their exhibit being converted to something else?

@DavidBrown Ankole cattle now occupy the exhibit as the giraffes have been phased out of Night Safari. But the exhibit will soon be redeveloped to house Indian rhinos.

@Zooish Do you know why the giraffes were phased out? That seems like a popular animal to be phasing out.

@DavidBrown the Night Safari giraffe herd had non-fatal health issues due to naturally-occuring parasites found in the exhibit site. So the herd was naturally phased out. Indian rhinos will occupy that site instead as they are not affected by the parasite. Giraffes might return in the future, but its not in the plans for the time being.
