Today I visited Vogelpark Avifauna and made - as always - loads of photos. In the "African" section of the Tropical House I discovered this White-naped pheasant pigeon and because they normaly were housed in a seperate aviary in the 3th section of the hall I wanted to document it by some photos. At home I checked my photos and discovered this photo was a complete failure and wanted to delete it but then saw 2 other animals were also in the photo - in real life I hadn't discovered them because I was to much focused on the pheasant-pigeon !
The female Red-crested wood-partride-female is not that special because there are a lot of them in the Tropical Halls but the other one is special ! I've been visiting Avifauna almost every year and that already over a period of 10-15 years and the Mouse deer is signed as being kept in one of the out-side aviaries were also several Hornbill-aviaries are located - near the big lake. Althrough signed ( also on this visit ) I have never discovered it in this enclosure.
Now it seems also to be kept in the middle part of the Tropical House were it is kept unsigned :) !
