Alfaro's pygmy squirrel - Mar 2019

I think it is a Alfaro's pygmy squirrel. I'm not sure with subspecies of Variegated Squirrel lives in the Monteverde region - underwoodi or rigidus - but both are unlike this squirrel (underwoodi has a white belly among other features, rigidus has different colors).

I was also confused.......it's just that the variegated squirrels are so common and variable you just sort of assume all the ones you see are them.
