Unfortunately it seems to be random. I’ve had luck at 2pm, 4pm and 5pm but I’ve talked to others who had good luck around 9am. They have been out of the den a lot, just not necessarily active.
I agree this is a really wonderful photo! You did a fantastic job of getting rid of all the eye sores that are give aways that you are at a zoo. Looks like you just snuck up on some wild pups.
