Philippine Eagle aviary

The Philippine Eagle pair are currently separated (this aviary has 2 sections) as part of the quarantine and introduction period. This aviary was previously separated into 4 sections housing Brahminy Kites, White-bellied Sea Eagle/Changeable Hawk Eagle, African Fish Eagle, and Palm Nut Vulture - all these species are now off exhibit.

So these are now the only on-show birds of prey? (not counting the show)

@FunkyGibbon There is another aviary further down that houses the scavengers - Andean Condor, and Himalayan Griffon, King and Turkey Vultures.

@Zooish Ah, I'd forgotten there were two. Do you have any sense of what the bird of prey setup will be like at the new park?

@FunkyGibbon the new park will supposedly have only a small bird of prey collection and these will probably be housed in the cluster of small individual aviaries at one corner of the park.

@Zooish That does make sense on a smaller site, but it's a shame not to have a huge flight aviary.

Have they removed the ropes so you can walk right up to the front of the enclosure?

@GregOz Not yet. But there is one small segment that is not roped off where you can go right up to the mesh. See where the man is standing in my other Philippine Eagle aviary photo.
