Cable Car

Taihang Mountains
Used to reach the alpine meadow
They love cablecars up mountains in China, don't they?

Where is Taihang?

The eastern edge of the range is with Beijing's city limits but then it stretches a good way out to the west, across several provinces.

And yes, there are a lot summits here where you don't need to do much walking to reach the peak. I think that giving people who literally can't climb a mountain the chance to stand on top of one is a great thing, but catch me on the wrong day and I will make you wish you never brought the subject up...

Here in the desert southwest (USA), there are cable cars that go from desert floor to pine forest mountain top in Albuquerque (New Mexico) and Palm Springs (California). I think my city of Tucson (Arizona) would be a great place for a similar thing, but sadly the idea has never been given serious thought that I know of.
