While not the most aesthetically pleasing exhibit, this is a great improvement to the exhibit. I wonder if they will try to get more elephants now as their program has been rather stagnant.
The mudbank walls are aesthetically pleasing, but the rest of this new exhibit is a jumble of gates, fences, large buildings and tall trees. Clearly a huge improvement on what was originally there, but much like with Milwaukee County Zoo the general consensus will probably be that more could have been done for elephants. Both Maryland and Milwaukee have debuted new elephant habitats this year that are underwhelming...let's see what Zoo Atlanta comes up with!
