Tule Elk

Sonora: Tule Elk. September 15, 2018.

Any idea how common Tule Elk, or for that matter any north american elk are in european zoos. From a quick google it seems Tule are only kept here and at Berlin. Makes me wonder the backstory for how they got them.. Reminds me of the derelict booted macaque population left in the US.

@lintworm I checked, zootier doesnt list any new world elk in europe, which clearly isnt true .

@DelacoursLangur Then you should look again, 3 subspecies + a large number of generic wapiti are kept. Using scientific names is often easier.
