Nubian ibex

Baboon Reserve, July 6, 2019.
I think it's unfortunate that the zoo has no females left, especially considering they're still 6 males strong.

@Ding Lingwei When was your last visit? I have no idea how old the Bronx animals are, though seeing as they still did have females and were breeding only a couple years back (iirc) some should be pretty young still.

I don’t really remember them breeding in recent memory. I thought the zoo had held a bachelor group for a while now, as I can imagine the focus is on breeding the Gelada in this exhibit.

@nczoofan That's entirely possible and I am misremembering. I could have sworn I'd seen youngish looking ones relatively recently but that could just be young bachelors being moved in from elsewhere. I suppose breeding the ibex might increase aggression between them and the Geladas during certain times of the year, though the ibex program seems to be in pretty dire need of more breeding.
