The macaques destroyed the live trees accessible to them, so the island looks really bare.

Especially because the plants in the background are so lush and it creates quite a contrast between the exhibit space and the area at the back.
 
Are the lion-tailed macaques still in the zoo and if not, what lives here now? I skimmed through primate kingdom so I may have missed them (I only saw the colobus, black and white ruffed lemur, and howler, the rest I passed by were hiding)
 
The primate was in renovation a few days ago when I visit. I only see the three you mentioned. (i visit on 9th July)
 
Lion-tailed macaques are off show. This island is now home to Geoffrey's spider monkey and common squirrel monkey.
