Where in the zoo is this? And do you know what it's for?

@Giant Panda This is just beyond the bears and before the restaurant. The former bison paddock opposite was also being remodelled but neither development had any signage up to explain anything further unfortunately.

@Maguari Is that where the run of aviaries was previously?

@sooty mangabey Yep - one owl aviary and an ibis aviary survive at the restaurant end.

It is interesting that the fairly new Jaguar exhibit at Artis Royal Zoo uses a similar type of curved pole and mesh...along with the new Gelada complex at Blijdorp Zoo...now this new aviary at Duisburg Zoo...plus isn't there an orangutan exhibit somewhere with the same setup? There has certainly been a recent trend in European zoos for this grandiose style of exhibitry.
