Wow, this is starting to look great - so much bigger too!

It looks very good. It used to be an elephant exhibition. It was also good, but it was not possible to accommodate an elephant bull, so they transported all their elephants to Blackpool, where they are now looking for a suitable partner for cows.

@taun the male is supposed to be comeing from port Lyme and was being crate trained for the move back in February, if he is still comeing would think this will be done sone and they are waiting to have his paddock finished which should be done sone as the females paddock has only just opened due to works concentrated on the tigers over the summer she has only had a small area outside the house since her move in February to go out side

@taun and your right on the move making no sense given the money spent on reducing the area for the rhino and other areas of the zoo a bull house for elephants in the lower paddock would have made more sense and possibly a bigger attraction to the zoo

@taun An elephant bull is now being searched at Blackpool Zoo for cows from the Twycross Zoo. Zoo Twycross has stopped breeding elephants and will therefore no longer bring any elephant. All elephants moved to Blackpool Zoo last year. However, for rhinos this enclosure will be great.

I wonder if the second/grass paddock will also be used by the rhino(s) in due course- or re-used as something else?

Would hope it will be used for another species as the have already created a second new paddock for the rhinos and the will prob only have two animals in the area that was comfortable for four elephants
