Paint the walls green and plant some clumps of arrow bamboo which will spread to form big tall clumps, might give it a more naturalistic feel and take away the starkness.
It does look rather like a prison doesn't it, bamboo would be cool but it would have to be quite far into the exhibit so they cant climb out, and covered in hot-wire which isnt ideal.,,
