God damn this exhibit is poor... I measured out of curiosity, its ~4700 square feet including the water area, also known as the size of a single basketball court... This has to be among of the smallest elephant exhibits I have seen...
Very sad, he lives alone all his life. But Tantor is 54 years old and is the oldest captured African elephant bull in the world !!! He would certainly deserve better housing, but due to his age, transport is unthinkable and the construction of a new facility is pointless.
