meerkat exhibit (opened summer 2019)

What is it with zoos adding small Meerkat exhibits recently?

In spite of the disdain they elicit on ZooChat, meerkats are in many ways the ideal zoo animal (much like otters). They live in groups, they are cute, and they are active throughout the day. The remake of a certain lion based movie recently doesn't hurt their popularity either.

@Arizona Docent True, though many of the newer Meerkat exhibits I've seen are fairly small.

It may not be clear from the photo, but there is an outdoor yard (in front here) and an indoor exhibit (in back here).

It wasn't clear, that makes it better.
