Raccoon Dog

Totally unbelievable containment.

These exhibits are simply brutal...one after the other. It's a nice surprise to see so many rarities (at least from a Western perspective) but the enclosures are awful.

I can't argue with that. For this one I just don't understand, since it's just a waist high wooden fence.

And, unlike most of the species held here, are fairly common in captivity.

@FunkyGibbon Sometimes containment is incredible in zoos, such as at Wildlands Adventure Zoo in Emmen with 17 Squirrel Monkeys that roam free. The primates literally have zero containment and are maintained at the zoo simply because the animals have a comfortable area with food and security. I don't know what the heck is going on with this Raccoon Dog exhibit.
