Just wanted to say I think you're a really good photographer. Also, I'll be visiting the LA Zoo soon and I was wondering if you had any advice on visiting. I've been before but I to make the most out of this visit. Mind you I will be going with people that aren't as big of zoo fans as us so I won't have the entire day.
@Hipporex Oh wow thank you very much, that’s really kind of you! I do wish I had a better camera as I see the other zoo photographers at my zoo always have top of the line gear haha If you are going with a group of people, I’d say to visit the zoo closer to opening. Even when I go at the opening time of the zoo, some of the major attractions are either already napping after breakfast or just about to come out. But some good stars to see early in the morning would be the gorillas since the keepers leaving their breakfast out on exhibit for the visitors to see them eat, the elephant demonstration sessions are a fun time. They’re held typically on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On Sundays they also do Tasmanian Devil feedings around 1 PM which is an awesome thing to see them eat while they use their powerful jaws. Here’s a small list of active animals/exhibits at most times of the day that are fun to watch(mostly primates):
*Francois Langurs
*Gorillas
*Crested Capuchin
*Giant River Otters
*White Cheeked Gibbons
*Chimpanzees
*Large aquarium in the LAIR filled with turtles and fish
*Aviary
*African aviary across gorillas
*Indian Gharial(they periodically swim with some downtime in between)
If your group of people want see top of the line must see exhibits, the LAIR and Rainforest of the Americas are a must. But I’d start with the LAIR since it gets full later during the day. I hope that this helped and good luck! Thank you once again my friend
