September 2019 New Aquarium
The installation of the six separate tanks in our new aquarium, is now nearing completion.
The finishing touches will now be done and then the tanks must mature.
During this natural process, the plants will become established and algal blooms will occur and die off. This cannot be hurried and for the next few weeks the full effect will not be visible.
Aquatic plants and systems take time to establish, just as outdoor garden plants do.
In October the fish will arrive.
Between 15 and 20 species of Australian freshwater fish, invertebrates, reptiles and amphibians will be introduced over the autumn and winter.
Four of the aquaria are visible towards the centre of the photo; the other two are expected to be installed shortly - these will be located in the wall to the right of the photograph - part of one of the temporary blanking-plates can just be seen in the photo.
