Bongo calf

Paddock beside entrance to Islands, Chester, 21st September 2019
Tragelaphus eurycerus isaaci. A tricky shot against the light. I am reliably informed that this calf's mother was pregnant when she arrived at Chester.

@gentle lemur Thanks for the info, I did ask the question about them breeding on another photo of them but did not get an answer.

When did they get a male?
I was under the impression that they had less than 4 females and were slowly phasing out the bongo?

@Azubaa They have been dwindling, but they are now building up the herd again. I'm not sure how many they have at the moment or how many they aim to have eventually. They are not included in the plans for Grasslands, but they could go elsewhere in they zoo.
