@Andrew Swales I don't think this is a Belgian thing, Antwerp and Planckendael don't do this.
That said, as you will see in future installments, Pairi Daiza is pretty over the top and next level in terms of theming and decoration, and there will definitely be more random and strange objects featured. Way more extreme than Olmense in many areas, as you will discover.

Sorry, I was jesting. I know Antwerp and Planckendael well, (although I have not visited for a few years) and both are great favourites.

I've not been to Olmense, and it is some time since I was at Paradisio. I'm still not really sure what I thought of it, and it appears to have become even more 'extreme' since...
