Sea Turtle Pool

Green, Hawksbill & Loggerhead
Ocean-dwelling turtles in a pool that looks like it's not even deep enough to qualify as a stingray touch tank. Ugh.

Yeah, I've seen stingray touch pools deeper than this. Also isn't romaine lettuce not recommended for reptiles due to the low mineral and nutrient content?

I can't get over the immeasurably sad face of the loggerhead on the right...
11 rare turtles in around 25 metres squared, a space good for a single guinea pig..

Anyway, thank you for documenting this....

I think we should be a little careful:

Does the turtle really look sad? Are turtles even capable of facial expressions?

25m^2 is a 5x5m exhibit. That's actually a large space, larger than most aquarium tanks either of us have seen. The problem is the non-existent depth.

I've seen these kind of turtle exhibits in a few places. They really are the worst.

@FunkyGibbon

That is true about the facial expression...

Meanwhile, 5x5m is really small! Most turtles in aquaria will have a 200 m2 exhibit at least (albeit shared with other species) with a visitor walk through tunnel...

And most guinea pigs have a 2m^2 exhibit!

We are obviously visiting different aquariums, but I would be quite happy with the footprint of this exhibit, if it was 5m deep.
