Elephant recognition and relationships poster

Beside Elephant House, Kingdom of Ganesha, Pairi Daiza, 23rd October 2019
I have posted this image at the maximum size allowed for the Gallery. I hope it is legible if viewed at full size.

Thanks for posting, as I remember lingering at this sign while at Pairi Daiza. I was impressed that the zoo would make the effort to post such a highly detailed, large sign for the public.

The young bull Pochin(or Po Chin even) born at Chester is here- I looked for him in the herd in the sandyard but to no avail- not realising the big paddock behind probably had elephants in it also.

@snowleopard I was a bit too- its not typical of PD's display techniques- but there's a lot of Elephants and maybe they thought it was worth doing for this one species.

@Pertinax I think there is another paddock behind the long one too, but it is only visible from the train. This sign is admirable, but I confess that I didn't try to identify any of the elephants as the light was difficult. I was surprised to see keepers with wheel barrows in the sand paddock with the cows, even the ones with little calves at foot: I am so used to seeing elephants in protected contact only.
