Invasive species in France and also Spain, Portugal, South Korea and Japan. First animals arrived in Europe ( France ) 2004 and have now spread over almost complete France. Because they attack bee-hives and kill and rob complete bee-colonies, they are a thread for bee-keepers.
Also in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands the first sightings have already be made...
Althrough its a ( sub ) tropical species I saw a small swarm of them at the Paris Zoological Park in mid-November and - althrough it was sunny that day - temperature was around 10 deg. Celcius !
