Gorilla gorilla graueri (unless you prefer to think of it as a full species). I was lucky enough to grow up near Chester so I can't help thinking that graueri are proper gorillas. Amaharo is big and black and beautiful. It is such a pity that circumstances worked against them back in 1970s when there was a small nucleus of specimens in zoos.
