@Pertinax Currently it looks like the mesh is the only part they're keeping. There were quite a number of glass panels already, including a full-height one on the corner roughly where this image was taken.
@Wyman Gordon McGregor Reid was director of Chester Zoo until 2010. He had a dislike of straight lines, so lots of the things built, especially towards the end of his tenure, leaned in one direction or another. The previous giant otter fence was one of the best (worst?) examples.
