Tibetan Golden Cat

Was always fond of this individual back when he was at Edinburgh Zoo :)

Yes very nice photo. Apparently (as stated above) it came from Edinburgh Zoo in which case I saw it there. They had three different golden cat exhibits when I was there, which was fantastic. Now apparently there are none.

@amur leopard

No, they're not :p much as I wish they were!

@TZDugong

In accurate answer to the question, the only Tibetan Golden Cats in Europe are this male, a female sibling at Heidelberg and at least one other sibling at Parc des Felins. The nominate race of Asian Golden Cat is marginally more common, and is in 5 collections, including Heidelberg and PDF.

@amur leopard

Given the fact this is one of the species I have a particular interest in, you really cannot make stuff up and expect not to be called out on it :p I repeat; a total of six collections hold the species with only three or four individuals of the Tibetan race, so neither the species as a whole nor the subspecies @TZDugong asked about are "rather common" in Europe.

To be precise:

Thrigby - 1,0 Tibetan
PDF - 0,0,1? Tibetan and 0,1 nominate
Heidelberg - 0,1 Tibetan and 1,0 nominate
Belfast - 1,0 nominate
Wuppertal - X, X nominate
Munster - 1,1 nominate
