How many sea lions do they have? On google earth I count five large exhibits plus at least one pool behind the scenes, are they all the same species? It seems strange to keep only sea-lions/harbor seals with so many nice pools. Especially in a region of such marine diversity.
@DelacoursLangur I don't know the exact numbers but Taronga Zoo keeps Californian Sea Lions (for the seal show), Australian Sea Lions, New Zealand Fur Seals, Sub-antarctic Fur Seals and I believe Australian Fur Seals. The majority are rescues but they do breed the Australian Sea Lions on a regular basis.
@WhistlingKite24 Oh okay that sounds much more interesting then, for some reason I had it in my head that they only had sea lions. Its no elephant seal but its still an interesting mix of species!
