Christmas Penguins

Why penguins though? Does it not strike them that penguins are from the South Pole rather than the North?
 
@Junklekitteb Yes I suppose it's not strictly Christmas themed (which would be north pole). It's also a desert garden so doesn't make much sense anyway, except that technically speaking I believe Antarctica is a desert. The lights throughout the gardens were primarily luminarias (a Christmas specialty of Arizona and New Mexico) and white lights on the palo verde trees. However the lighted animals they had were these penguins just inside the entrance, meerkats just outside the entrance (photo in gallery), frogs on an entrance gazebo, and snails on an interior gazebo.
