Jessie was born at Wellington Zoo in 1978 to Tom and Yoka (a tea party chimp). Jessie was handraised and as a result is not completely familiar with Chimpanzee etiquette. She throws tantrums if she doesn’t get her way and even the adult males will sometimes give in. Jessie was an ally of Marty, so her status dropped when he was overthrown by Alexis in 2017. Jessie is technically lower ranking than Cara (the mother of the alpha male), but throws a tantrum if Cara tries to assert her dominance over Jessie.
