This is 'Mike' (or maybe Nyuki?- Mike I think)-both sons of the beautiful male 'Migger' who was born at Basel Zoo and later came to La Palmyre-this male is equally impressive. these two males are half-brothers and live(still?) together as they were handraised and have never been socialised with other Gorillas. Now fully adult males, its likely they will stay like this permanently as they are thought too aggressive to be introduced into groups.
Correct. I thought I'd uploaded their signage but apparently not. Seems I missed quite a few other photos too. Blame it on a bird stomping on the keyboard and clearing my photo selection.
