This exhibit is a lot grassier then I remember. Do you know if the zoo added grass to the exhibit?

@betsy Does San Diego have any plans to bring in new elephants to retire now that they are down to three with Mary, Devi and Shaba? (Or finally mix the guanaco/tapir/capybara in with the elephants as originally planned to reflect a Pleistocene environment?)

I haven't heard of any new elephants coming. I would love to see it as a mixed exhibit as originally planned.

@betsy I would like to see a few retired (from breeding that is) and easygoing males in with the mix. IIRC Ranchipur was quite easygoing, no?

@Wyman, yes he was. The littlest elephant Cha Cha preferred to be on exhibit with him.

@betsy BTW, what other animals would work in a Pleistocene environment mixed with the elephants/guanaco/capybara/tapir?
