Tongan megapode (Megapodius pritchardii), “Hidden Aviary”, December 27, 2015. As mentioned in the forum, the row of aviaries was blocked by a gate when I visited last month. Since the maleos were on display at the Wings of Australasia aviaries during my visit, there is still a chance that at least some of the rarities originally kept here would be moved to other locations accessible to the public, though for this particular bird it is understandable if the zoo decides to keep her off-exhibit given her advanced age.
