Many of the exhibits at this second-rate French zoo offer very few opportunities for the animals to escape from the eyes of visitors, and little in the way of shade and shelter. The choices in design are quite bizarre, from the great ape "Smurf" houses to the sand traps for lions and jaguars to this odd-looking wire cage for lemurs. There are some marquee ABC species but if one is searching for something with quality attached to it they might as well renew their quest elsewhere. The annual attendance is over 800,000 but the zoo is set in a tourist-friendly region and I suspect that the summer is when most of the business pours through the gates.
