This individual strikes me as looking very much like a Red Wolf.

Remind me, how did you come to the conclusion that this animal was ssp. ochropus? If memory serves me right, the subspecies native to the region where The Living Desert is located is ssp. mearnsi

I don't quite remember. I suspect either subspecies will be found to be valid in due time anyhow.

@ThylacineAlive if you read "Canids of the World" by Dr. Jose Ramon Castello (same author of Bovids of the World), he heavily reduced the number of recognized subspecies and for fair reasons...
