We've got a plucker on our hands...

It's kind of funny to see it without feathers - but a bit sad at the same time. I'm assuming it's a rescue bird that wouldn't stop plucking?

@birdsandbats I don't know how common they are in the captive trade.

@EsserWarrior You mean the species or plucking? The species here (one of the lorikeets) is extremely common in the private trade. Plucking really only happens in birds that aren't cared for well. Plucking birds in zoos are usually rescues from bad homes that wouldn't stop the bad habit.

@birdsandbats I guess I've never looked into Lorikeets. I already know about plucking.

@EsserWarrior Lorikeets of several species are pretty common in the private trade, I know a few people who have them. They can be a tad expensive to keep due to their diet though.
